About The Position

The Cardiac Stress Technician is responsible for performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and assisting physicians with various cardiac stress testing procedures. This role involves operating EKG data management systems, ensuring accurate lead placement, and maintaining equipment. The technician will also provide patient care, monitor vital signs, and perform clerical duties related to cardiac testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in cardiology, medical assisting, or EMT services, or a degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
• Completion of EKG certificate program preferred.
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification required.
• Basic EKG interpretation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or EMT preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKG services according to established procedures.
• Assist physicians with cardiac stress testing, including patient instruction and obtaining informed consent.
• Monitor EKG continuously during tests and document any significant changes.
• Maintain and clean EKG and stress testing equipment.
• Train new employees and interns on EKG and stress testing procedures.
• Promote good customer service practices with patients.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry and billing for cardiac testing.
