About the position

We are seeking an experienced adult cardiac surgeon to join our thriving practice in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to complement our existing team of two cardiovascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, and dedicated support staff in a hospital-employed setting. Our practice is committed to providing the most advanced and compassionate cardiovascular care, ensuring excellent outcomes for our patients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hospital that has been recognized as one of the nation’s top 50 cardiovascular hospitals in 2023 by Fortune and PINC AI. The Winchester Medical Center is a 495-bed regional referral center serving an 18-county market, providing a robust platform for a successful practice. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an advanced fellowship in aortic surgery or structural heart procedures. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a production incentive, a sign-on bonus, a generous PTO/CME allowance, a full benefits package, and malpractice coverage. Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced cardiovascular surgical care to adult patients.
  • Collaborate with a team of cardiovascular surgeons and APP providers.
  • Participate in a 1:3 call rotation to ensure patient care coverage.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to stay updated on the latest surgical techniques and advancements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care protocols.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a cardiac surgeon.
  • Completion of an advanced fellowship in aortic surgery or structural heart is preferred.
  • Board certification in cardiovascular surgery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and team members.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.
