About the position

The Cardiology Account Specialist at scPharmaceuticals is responsible for driving sales and managing relationships with healthcare professionals in the cardiology and heart failure sectors. This role focuses on meeting sales budgets, executing marketing initiatives, and providing strategic input to enhance business opportunities within the assigned territory. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure effective product utilization and customer satisfaction while adhering to company objectives and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully meet and exceed established sales budgets with accountability for territory results.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved products with healthcare professionals within assigned accounts.
  • Apply understanding and knowledge of heart failure and marketplace to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide relevant input to the Regional Sales Director and other colleagues for strategic planning.
  • Prepare, maintain, present, and implement strategic territory plans.
  • Execute marketing/sales initiatives to achieve business objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Model scPharmaceuticals vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Participate in shaping a winning organizational culture.
  • Operate within defined budgets for territory expenses.
  • Manage resources to achieve territory objectives.
  • Conduct speakers programs in territory as permitted.
  • Deliver outstanding customer experience, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Establish and build understanding of account needs and competitive situations.
  • Utilize sales reports to identify territory potential and key stakeholders.
  • Organize and complete administrative responsibilities efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college/university required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare sales experience in pharma specialty, hospital, or medical device/diagnostic.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in cardiovascular categories.
  • 1-year Institutional sales experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of high achievement in sales rankings.
  • Experience with product launch and Medicare population is a plus.
  • Strong team player with a customer service approach.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and strong communication skills.
  • Prior experience working a large geography and ability to travel overnight as needed.
  • Experience working with a HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Medicare population with coverage determination facilitation.
  • Extensive prior authorization experience.
