About the position

Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine (WCVM), located in the Northern Shenandoah Valley, is seeking an experienced Cardiology Advanced Practice Clinician to join their team of 14 Cardiology Advanced Practice Clinicians and 20 board certified Cardiologists. This position is situated in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, where WCVM stands as the largest and most established cardiology practice serving both the Shenandoah Valley and the Panhandle of West Virginia. The practice is looking to expand its team of advanced practice clinicians, and all candidates should possess clinical competency and expertise in caring for cardiovascular patients. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Virginia Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License. WCVM employs a care team model that pairs one Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with one to two physicians. The job responsibilities are divided between hospital and clinic settings, with a 3-6 month onboarding and training program tailored to the candidate's level of expertise. The position entails no or limited night and weekend call responsibilities, and candidates must be comfortable with EKG interpretation, post-surgical management, and cardiac medications and interventions. It is important to note that all candidates must be US citizens, as no Visa positions are available. The practice opened a new office in March 2020, featuring a 30,000 sq. ft. clinic that connects to the cardiovascular lab and inpatient hospital. Additionally, WCVM has satellite clinics in Martinsburg, W.V., and provides outreach services at Valley Health Multi-specialty clinics. The team includes interventional cardiologists, non-invasive cardiologists, advanced heart failure specialists, structural heart specialists, and electrophysiologists. At Winchester Medical Center, the practice provides cardiovascular consultative and procedural services, utilizing EPIC as their electronic medical record system in both clinic and hospital settings. The facility includes a complete diagnostic testing area with an active Nuclear Department, a fully digital echo lab, and a full vascular lab. The WCVM Cardiovascular Imaging Center is accredited through ICAEL, ICAVL, and ICANL. The practice prides itself on a collegial environment that emphasizes fair compensation and work-life balance.
