About the position

The Nurse Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing a specific nursing unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of nursing staff. This position involves planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating unit activities while providing support and guidance to charge nurses and the nursing team. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the unit's operations 24/7, fostering a collaborative environment and effective communication among staff, physicians, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate nursing unit activities.
• Provide direction, support, and guidance to charge nurses and nursing team.
• Demonstrate responsible decision-making in patient care planning and delegation.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and administration.
• Adapt positively to changes in the work environment.
• Follow through on issues that may compromise patient care using the appropriate chain of command.
• Cooperate with peers and support group decisions.
• Communicate timely and appropriate information to ACNO/CNO.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Minimum of five years clinical experience in specialty or related clinical field.
• Current RN license in Florida.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills.
