About the position

AdventHealth Kansas City is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our esteemed team in the picturesque suburbs of Kansas City. This position is part of a comprehensive cardiovascular program that includes a robust team of 8 general cardiologists, 4 interventional cardiologists, 2 electrophysiologists, and 13 advanced practice providers (APPs). Our program is recognized for its excellence, being accredited by the Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center, and offers a wide range of services including advanced imaging with 3 catheterization labs, complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), electrophysiology, structural heart procedures, and heart failure management. The employed group consists of a large primary care referral network with 15 practice locations, ensuring a steady flow of patients. The team includes 8 non-invasive cardiologists, 4 interventionalists, 2 electrophysiologists, 1 cardiothoracic surgeon, and 13 APPs, providing a collaborative environment for patient care. The call schedule is favorable, with a 1 in 3 rotation, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Our support staff is exceptional, ensuring that our surgeons can focus on delivering high-quality care. AdventHealth Medical Group, which comprises over 200 providers, offers an attractive compensation package that includes an initial base salary guarantee along with a production and quality component based on work relative value units (wRVUs). Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and APPs to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care.
  • Participate in the call rotation, providing surgical coverage as needed.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiothoracic surgery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices within the cardiovascular program.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Kansas.
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of cardiothoracic surgery.
