About the position
The Cardiovascular Device Technician at Munson Healthcare plays a crucial role in patient care by providing expert support for cardiac device patients. This full-time position involves working closely with electrophysiologists to perform pacemaker and AICD interrogations and reprogramming, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The role emphasizes strong communication skills to foster relationships with healthcare providers and staff, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Function as a subject matter expert in cardiac device care under the supervision of electrophysiologists.
- Provide thorough pacemaker/AICD interrogation and reprogramming in person, remotely, or via phone transmission.
- Maximize clinical relationships with physician providers, independent licensed providers, clinical staff, and administration.
- Support patient care by nurturing exceptional relationships with patients and their families.
Requirements
- Cardiac Device Specialist Certification preferred; required within 5 years of hire.
- BLS certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Nursing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 years' experience in cardiac telemetry, electrocardiogram, electrophysiology tech, monitor tech, or device monitoring.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in cardiac services required; 1 year cardiac device experience preferred.
