About the position
The Cardiovascular Tech in the Cath Lab is responsible for performing hemodynamic monitoring procedures and assisting physicians during various procedures. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, from adolescents to geriatrics, and includes training other Cardiovascular Technicians and Cath Lab personnel. The position requires completion of established competencies within a designated introductory period and may involve additional related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature.
- Assist the physician during all procedures in the Cath Lab.
- Work with patients from adolescents to geriatrics.
- Train Cardiovascular Technicians and other Cath Lab personnel.
- Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a certificate or degree granting program or post-secondary educational program in health science or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 2 years of interventional Cath Lab or 2 years of Electrophysiology experience.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification required.
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire, with AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS certification must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.
Nice-to-haves
- Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) certification preferred.
