About the position
As a Cardiovascular Technician at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, you will play a crucial role in assisting with cardiac catheterization and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. This position involves performing emergency procedures related to catheterization, such as IAB and temporary pacer insertion, under the guidance of credentialed invasive cardiologists or radiologists. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality patient care and supporting each other in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiac catheterization and vascular diagnostic procedures.
- Perform emergency procedures associated with catheterization, including IAB and temporary pacer insertion.
- Follow established standards and practices under the direction of credentialed invasive cardiologists or radiologists.
- Recognize and identify potential and actual patient problems, collecting accurate data.
- Prioritize resources to patient care and diagnostic activities based on patient information and staff capabilities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, specific conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies.
- Document findings and report abnormal or out-of-range results to the physician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience in Critical Care or Cath Lab, or one year as RCIS or CVT, or graduate of an accredited RCVT program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- Critical thinking and good interpersonal communication skills.
