About the position
The Cardiovascular Technologist at Detroit Medical Center is responsible for performing technical aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures under general supervision. This role involves assessing patient parameters and making critical judgments regarding patient safety and condition during procedures. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week on day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all technical aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Assess all parameters and performance during procedures.
- Make value judgments pertaining to patient condition and safety.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Science with a major in Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program.
- Registration with the National Board of Cardio Vascular Testing preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for adult settings, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year for pediatric settings.
