About the position

The Care Coordinator position at Optum in Altamonte Springs, FL, is a full-time role focused on managing administrative tasks related to member services within a healthcare setting. The role is integral to the Optum Care Delivery team, which aims to enhance healthcare delivery through collaboration and support. The Care Coordinator will work closely with hospitals, clinics, and the clinical team to facilitate service requests and ensure efficient communication with members and providers. Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
  • Maintain efficiency and productivity in a high-volume customer service environment, including handling member interactions over the phone.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, in any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm EST

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Clerical or administrative support background
