About the position
The Care Coordinator position at Optum in Altamonte Springs, FL, is a full-time role focused on managing the administrative intake of members and facilitating communication between patients, healthcare providers, and clinical teams. This role is integral to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring that members receive the necessary services efficiently. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a high-volume environment, contributing to the overall mission of making healthcare better for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Manage administrative intake of members
- Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
- Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles
- Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Experience working within the health care industry and with health care insurance
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Ability to work Monday - Friday, in any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm EST
