About the position

The Care Delivery Science Research Project Coordinator position is a vital role within the Healthcare Delivery Institute's Care Delivery Science team at Intermountain Medical Center. This position is designed to provide comprehensive research project support, focusing on the coordination and management of various research studies, quality improvement projects, and implementation science objectives. The coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between the department and the Office of Research, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the Intermountain system. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for organizing and managing implementation research projects, which includes preparing necessary documentation, maintaining schedules, and tracking task lists. A significant part of the job involves preparing Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents and facilitating communication between research teams and compliance/IRB. The coordinator will also develop and manage surveys using REDCap and related software, monitor data collection to meet recruitment goals, and coordinate data entry and management with analytics partners. Additionally, the coordinator will track project progress, publications, and grants, while also planning agendas and facilitating meetings for the Care Delivery Science team. They will assist in preparing documents for various funding applications, track grant progress, and coordinate with funding agencies as needed. The role also includes assisting in qualitative data collection, coding qualitative data, and contributing to the publication of research findings and presentations. The coordinator will manage the purchasing of research-related items and coordinate compensation for research participants, ensuring that all activities align with the goals of the department and the broader Intermountain system.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates implementation research projects including organizing documents, schedules, task lists, reporting from team members, etc.
  • Prepares IRB documents and serves as a liaison between the research teams and compliance/IRB.
  • Develops and manages surveys in REDCap and related software.
  • Monitors data collection including ensuring recruitment goals.
  • Coordinates data entry and management with assistance from analytics and related partners.
  • Coordinates the Care Delivery Science team including tracking projects, publications, grants, planning agendas, and facilitating meetings.
  • Helps to prepare documents and organize applications for a variety of funding mechanisms.
  • Tracks grant progress and coordinates with funding agencies as needed.
  • Tracks funding announcements and timelines, identifying potential funding possibilities and coordinating with clinical teams who might apply for funding.
  • Assists in coordinating and conducting qualitative data collection (e.g., interviews and focus groups).
  • Assists in coding qualitative data.
  • Assists in publication of findings from projects and preparation of presentations.
  • Manages purchasing of research-related items, travel, etc.
  • Coordinates compensation of research participants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of experience in a research-related role requiring strong demonstrated attention to detail and ability to adhere to policies and procedures. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
  • Six (6) years of experience in a research-related role requiring strong demonstrated attention to detail and ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective organizational skills; effective follow-through, and commitment to excellence, effective professional communication skills; Ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner as well as strong interpersonal skills: Ability to work with personnel at all levels to gather information, communicate compliance requirements and handle complex issues within an often-sensitive political environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Ability to travel within the Intermountain system and work from different locations as assigned. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Clinical licensure, experience or certification may be required due to grant funding requirements.
