About the position

The Care Manager Trainee position at Family Allies involves providing family-centered, strength-based assessments and services to children and families in need. The role focuses on achieving permanency for children placed in out-of-home care by working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including parents, caregivers, and legal representatives. The Care Manager will undergo training to develop proficiency in assessing family needs and coordinating necessary services, while adhering to the principles of the BFP System of Care.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Child Protection Certification training and pass the required examination.
  • Conduct family function and child safety assessments; develop and manage safety plans.
  • Identify and develop plans to achieve permanency for children in out-of-home care.
  • Assess child and family needs; develop service plans and coordinate service delivery.
  • Prepare and submit required court reports and make recommendations during court hearings.
  • Maintain case and program documentation according to contract requirements.
  • Conduct face-to-face home visits with children at least every 30 days to monitor quality of care.
  • Provide support to children and families to ensure stable placements and timely permanency.
  • Review case information prior to court hearings to ensure preparedness.
  • Participate in initiatives designed to enhance the System of Care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related area from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid driver's license to attend meetings and activities throughout the County and State.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, and SACWIS system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field of study preferred.
  • Two years' experience working with at-risk children and families preferred.

Benefits

  • Starting salary of $45,000/year ($21.63/hr).
