About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced LPN and RN Supervisor to join our team in Syracuse, NY. This full-time direct hire position offers a structured work schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. As an RN Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include managing time and attendance for nurses, reviewing and approving timecards, and preparing weekly nursing schedules to guarantee adequate coverage across all departments. You will supervise the performance of nursing staff, providing coaching and counseling as necessary, and collaborating with the Clinical Administrator to implement departmental orientation for clinical support staff. In this role, you will also be responsible for triaging patients according to established policies and procedures, referring them to appropriate medical facilities or providers for care. You will continually assess patient and family needs, ensuring a patient-centered care model while collaborating with all team members. Additionally, you will review patient charts prior to appointments to ensure all necessary reports are available and follow up on lab reports in accordance with departmental protocols. Your duties will also include preparing patients for exams and treatments, performing nursing procedures, and educating patients about their health plans and treatments. As part of your supervisory role, you will participate in quality assurance activities, including chart auditing and risk management, and rotate among clinical departments as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels. You will also manage medication inventory and reconciliation, order stock supplies, and complete prior authorizations for CT/MRI procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care and a commitment to maintaining high standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Time & Attendance responsibilities for nurses.
  • Manage schedule, review time off requests and approve timecards.
  • Ensure all nurses have reviewed and approved their timecard according to payroll process.
  • Review and prepare weekly nursing schedules to ensure adequate coverage in all departments.
  • Supervise performance of nurses and perform coaching and counseling.
  • Provide feedback to Clinical Administrator on work performance of nurses.
  • Make corrective action recommendations to Clinical Administrator when performance is unsatisfactory.
  • Prepare performance reviews.
  • Participate in recruitment process with Clinical Administrator, including reviewing applications, interviewing and making recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Administrator to implement departmental orientation for clinical support staff.
  • Ensure nursing support staff is compliant with infection control program.
  • Triage patients according to policies and procedures.
  • Refer patients to appropriate medical facilities or providers for care, utilizing approved guidelines.
  • Continually assess patient and family needs to provide quality care in a patient-centered care model, collaborating with all team members.
  • Review charts prior to patient seeing activities to assure necessary reports are available prior to patient's arrival; review and follow up lab reports in accordance with departmental protocol.
  • Direct other licensed and non-licensed team members in the provision of care to patients assigned.
  • Prepare patients for exam and/or treatment, including nursing assessment and initiation of appropriate procedures per department protocol.
  • Perform nursing procedures including treatments, assessments testing, and administration of medications and immunizations in accordance with established policies and licensure.
  • Educate patients regarding providers' orders, treatments, health plans and health-related issues.
  • Work with the care team to handle all patient concerns, via in person, phone or through patient portal, before elevating to Clinical Administrator.
  • Screen provider messages from patients and other service providers, handling messages in accordance with department protocols.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities that may include: chart auditing, committee assignments, risk management, and completion and submission of quality improvement reports.
  • Rotate among clinical departments as needed to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Medication Inventory/Reconciliation.
  • Ordering of stock supplies, office supplies and medication.
  • Complete CT/MRI Prior Authorizations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a State approved School of Nursing (RN) with permit or license to practice.
  • 1-3 years of clinical or physician's office experience.
  • Current BLS certification and Infection Control Certification.
