About the position

The Full-time Care Technician at Premise Health plays a crucial role in providing direct healthcare services to patients. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including patient interviews, vital sign measurements, personal hygiene assistance, and administrative tasks. The Care Technician is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care in a supportive environment, contributing to the overall mission of simplifying healthcare access for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients and measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, recording information on patients' charts.
  • Provides personal hygiene assistance to patients, including support with toileting and activities of daily living.
  • Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments to maintain a safe environment.
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials as needed.
  • Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
  • Performs routine CLIA waived laboratory tests and collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Schedules appointments and makes follow-up phone calls to patients to ensure continuity of care.
  • Performs administrative tasks, completes client company and OSHA regulated forms, and assists at the front desk.
  • Keys data into the computer to maintain clinic and patient records.

Requirements

  • CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer) certification with hands-on evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor.
  • State Lab Certificate (NV only) if applicable.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Program training program (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Work experience in a health center or doctor's office setting, particularly in patient care or long-term care.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
