About the position

The Career and College Access Coach at Wake Technical Community College is responsible for leading recruitment efforts at designated high schools to enhance awareness and promote the college's programs. This role involves executing outreach plans, assessing high school needs, and creating tailored college access activities for students and families. The coach will also assist prospective students with financial aid processes and engage with school administrators to foster collaboration and support for college readiness initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute outreach plans as outlined in the college's strategic plan.
  • Assess the needs of high schools in collaboration with key school administrators to improve participation in Career & College Promise and post-high school enrollment.
  • Create a customized road map of college access activities targeting students, parents/families, and faculty/staff at each school.
  • Track all activities and assess their effectiveness, providing a data-driven summary at the end of the first year.
  • Assist prospective students in navigating FAFSA and inform them of funding opportunities for their educational goals.
  • Engage with key administrators to assess school needs and gain buy-in for career and college access activities.
  • Partner with various departments to develop programming and activities that expose students and families to opportunities at Wake Tech.
  • Deliver information sessions, presentations, and application workshops.
  • Promote college preparedness and readiness through programs designed by the Director of College Access & Outreach.
  • Develop assessment measures for each activity and submit a final report with recommendations for future engagement.
  • Assist with recruitment activities in Wake County as needed.
  • Promote college access and readiness through community outreach efforts.
  • Plan and participate in recruiting functions such as open houses, campus tours, and information sessions.
  • Report on the success of the program at the end of each academic year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years experience in recruitment, student success, or college access activities.
