About the position

The Career Development and Marketing Coordinator at St. Ambrose University is responsible for connecting students with employment opportunities while enhancing marketing efforts for the Academic and Career Planning center. This role involves collaboration with faculty and staff to promote student career readiness, oversee student employment programs, and lead marketing initiatives for the ACP office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the student employment program including contract processing, supervisor training, and student onboarding.
• Collaborate with human resources, financial aid, and accounting to ensure compliance with regulations regarding student employment eligibility and budgets.
• Coordinate marketing needs for the ACP office, including social media posts, website updates, and career fair signage.
• Provide career development information through presentations, workshops, and individual meetings.
• Encourage student career development through various programs and assessments such as O*NET, YouScience, and Handshake.
• Provide holistic advising for undecided undergraduate students.
• Assist with ACP events and career development needs, including career fairs, mock interviews, and resume building.
• Hire, train, and supervise ACP student employees.
• Maintain student employment postings in Handshake.
• Lead the Student Employment Committee to improve policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in higher education or student personnel preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in higher education, workforce development, or related fields.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of emotional intelligence and initiative.
• Organized and detail-oriented with innovative thinking.
