About the position

The Career and Technical Education Success Coach at Southwestern Community College is responsible for supporting students in their career and technical education pathways. This role focuses on providing guidance, resources, and strategies to help students succeed academically and professionally, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized coaching and support to students in career and technical education programs.
• Assist students in developing academic and career goals, and create action plans to achieve them.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on career readiness, job search strategies, and resume writing.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify at-risk students and develop intervention strategies.
• Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure success.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
• Experience in academic advising, coaching, or counseling in a higher education setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and faculty.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience in career services or workforce development.
• Familiarity with career assessment tools and resources.
