About the position

The Career Center Graduate Assistant for Career Coaching & University Outreach at Indiana State University is responsible for advising students on career development and job search strategies. This role involves conducting workshops, making classroom presentations, and overseeing the Peer Coaching team to enhance student engagement and outreach. The assistant will collaborate with various stakeholders to plan and execute events aimed at improving student readiness for internships, job searches, and graduate school applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions with undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Assist students in utilizing online assessment tools and job databases.
  • Conduct practice interviews to prepare students for real interviews.
  • Support the Career Peer Advisor Team in outreach to student organizations.
  • Create and distribute marketing materials to promote Career Center services and events.
  • Conduct workshops and presentations on career-related topics for various majors.
  • Research and develop content for the Career Center's resources and website.
  • Assist with staffing and representing the Career Center at events such as career fairs and orientations.

Requirements

  • Must be an Indiana State University graduate student enrolled in at least 5 credit hours with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Bachelor's Degree (4 years) required.

Benefits
