About the position

The Career Coach position at Beebe High School is designed to support middle and high school students in exploring career opportunities in Arkansas. The role focuses on providing essential information about educational pathways, career planning, and the skills required for various professions. The Career Coach will engage with low-income students and their families to promote the importance of postsecondary education and assist them in navigating the application and financing processes. This is a twelve-month, grant-funded position aimed at fostering career readiness among students.

Responsibilities

• Providing early outreach to low-income students and their parents about postsecondary education.
• Conducting interest inventories and skills assessments for informed career decisions.
• Facilitating the development of individual career plans and portfolios.
• Assisting students with enrolling in education or training programs.
• Providing information on careers, career pathways, and educational requirements.
• Offering job shadowing, mentoring, internships, and other career awareness activities.
• Connecting low-income students to support services for postsecondary education transition.
• Linking educationally disadvantaged youth to bridge programs for academic skills training.
• Connecting students to academic enrichment activities like study groups and tutoring.
• Facilitating connections to early college programs and Advanced Placement classes.
• Providing continuous career guidance from middle school to the workplace.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• CRDF certification or commitment to obtain CDF credential within one year of hire.
