About the position

The Career Coach position at the Oregon Employment Department is a permanent opportunity aimed at supporting under-served populations in Oregon. The role involves providing career coaching, assisting job seekers in identifying their skills and employment goals, and connecting them with necessary resources and services. The Career Coach will collaborate with various partners, including the Oregon Department of Human Services, to enhance the job search experience for individuals in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with individual Oregonians to assess job seeker's transferable skills, interests, and employment goals.
  • Provide services and referrals, including access to STEP support, work experience opportunities, and training.
  • Identify barriers to successful job search and explore possible solutions to remove those barriers.
  • Work with program data systems to track activities, attendance, and progress.

Requirements

  • Two years providing customer service, including requesting and reviewing information and documentation.
  • Two years of education or experience in relevant fields such as Human Resources, Vocational or Career Counseling, or related areas.
  • 45-quarter (30-semester) college-level credits in relevant fields can substitute for one year of experience.
