About the position

The Career Coach at the University of Cincinnati's Lindner College of Business is a dedicated professional responsible for guiding business students in their career development and job placement efforts. This role involves providing personalized coaching, facilitating career education programs, and connecting students with industry-specific employment opportunities. The position supports the overall mission of the Career Services Center and offers a hybrid work schedule after an initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance, coaching, and support to students throughout their career development process, including major/career exploration and professional transition.
  • Educates students through one-on-one appointments, presentations, workshops, and print/virtual resources.
  • Assists students and alumni during individual appointments, walk-in sessions, and group settings to provide career development services and resources.
  • Helps students develop professional skills such as resumes, interviews, and networking, and facilitates connections to resources, services, and events targeting co-op and job opportunities.
  • Supports career education programming and presentations for classroom visits, student groups, and new student orientations.
  • Teaches career courses to both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Assists with planning and implementation of career events and job fairs.
  • Implements administrative and student-focused tasks supporting the department's overall mission.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to non-exempt staff, including hiring/firing, performance evaluations, and approving time off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
  • One (1) year of professional related work experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in education, higher education administration, college student development, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in a University Career Services Office.
