About the position

The Career Coach/Case Manager at St. Sabina Employment Resource Center is responsible for providing vocational and career counseling to clients from diverse backgrounds. This role involves acting as a liaison between clients and employers, facilitating career development workshops, and assisting in the administration of agency programs. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while supporting clients in achieving their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ERC orientation and TABE testing as scheduled.
  • Perform in-depth interview assessments with clients, reviewing educational and work history.
  • Facilitate Career Development workshops for agency clients.
  • Provide short-term and long-term vocational or career counseling and career pathway planning for clients, including crisis intervention referrals.
  • Assess clients' interests, aptitudes, and skill levels; arrange for appropriate testing and/or verification of stated skills.
  • Maintain consistent communication with assigned clients.
  • Perform comprehensive annotation of client files and accurately record client service delivery information.
  • Collect employment placement verification and training credential documentation from clients and/or employers.
  • Register and exit clients from the appropriate database system.
  • Assist in the development of ongoing strategic planning and implementation of new programs and services.
  • Attend community/agency meetings and report information back to agency staff.
  • Assist in identifying training initiatives and programs for ERC clients.
  • Assist in developing new employer-agency relationships and report information to the Business Resource Specialist.
  • Assist in the development and production of the quarterly client newsletter.

Requirements

  • Some college education required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in workforce development required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to understand and work in conjunction with the organization's mission.
  • Ability to assist others in developing and realizing career goals.
  • Demonstrated successful placement and retention of clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Cloud platforms.
  • Ability to learn job-related computer applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of workforce development experience (preferred).

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $50,000 - $55,000 per year.
  • In-person work location with a Monday to Friday schedule.
