About the position

The Career Coach for the College of Engineering at Louisiana State University plays a vital role in supporting students and alumni in their career development journey. This position focuses on providing career coaching, facilitating experiential learning opportunities, and promoting a culture of career readiness within the College. The Career Coach will work closely with faculty and staff to enhance student engagement and prepare them for successful transitions into the workforce or graduate school.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students throughout their career development process, including major/career exploration and professional transition.
• Educate students through one-on-one appointments, presentations, workshops, and print/virtual resources.
• Serve as an embedded career liaison to the College of Engineering to develop a culture of career readiness and expand experiential learning opportunities.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students, along with alumni, on holistic career development topics, providing front-line advocacy and support.
• Collaborate with senior administrators, department chairs, faculty, and staff to embed career readiness in student engagement.
• Build relationships with student organization leadership to facilitate career conversations.
• Facilitate connections between employers, community partners, and College representatives.
• Ensure high quality in programmatic outputs, including administrative tasks and overall design.
• Participate in divisional initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of one year of professional work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in higher education administration, college student development, or a closely related field
• Experience working in a university career services office.
