About the position

The Career Coach for the College of Engineering at LSU serves as a vital member of the student support team, providing career coaching to students and alumni. This role focuses on empowering students to explore their majors and careers, gain relevant experience, and prepare for job searches and graduate school. The Career Coach collaborates with faculty and staff to foster a culture of career readiness within the College of Engineering, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their professional journeys.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students throughout their career development process, including major/career exploration and professional transition.
• Educate students through one-on-one appointments, presentations, workshops, and virtual resources.
• Serve as an embedded career liaison to the College of Engineering to develop a culture of career readiness and expand experiential learning opportunities.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students, along with alumni, on holistic career development topics, providing advocacy and support.
• Collaborate with senior administrators, department chairs, faculty, and staff to embed career readiness in student engagement.
• Ensure high-quality programmatic outputs, including administrative tasks and overall design of services and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director and direct supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of one year of professional work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in higher education administration, college student development, or a closely related field
• Experience working in a university career services office.
