About the position

The Partners for Re-Entry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) Career Coach position is designed to assist individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. This role involves assessing the re-entry needs of offenders, developing and implementing transitional plans, and providing support through various community resources. The position requires collaboration with multiple organizations to enhance public safety and facilitate successful reintegration into society.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the re-entry needs of individual offenders.
  • Develop and implement transitional plans for offenders.
  • Research and gather community resources and support for re-entering individuals.
  • Provide linkages to other agencies and organizations.
  • Deliver services in both group and individual settings.
  • Coordinate closely with Federal Parole Officers and other local workforce areas.
  • Act as a liaison with state groups providing employment and training services.
  • Monitor and oversee employment and training programs according to Federal and State guidelines.

Requirements

  • Five years of relevant experience working with past and currently incarcerated persons in probation, parole, correctional, and prison facilities or in career development.
  • Demonstrated success in assisting adults in custody to transition back into the community.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple organizations to provide career development and social services.
  • Knowledge of career development assessments and employment-related tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse individuals.
  • Knowledge of effective outreach and recruitment strategies for justice-involved individuals.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and presentations to various stakeholders.

  • Experience administering assessments.
