About the position

The Women's Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Career Coach to join our Employment Solutions Program. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing employment, financial, and resource coaching to unemployed and underemployed individuals, particularly women and men, in both English and Spanish. The Career Coach will play a vital role in a fast-paced environment focused on financial stability, utilizing effective coaching techniques in a client-driven process to help participants achieve successful employment and financial independence. In this role, the Career Coach will facilitate motivational job search workshops, fostering an atmosphere of personal growth and empowerment. They will provide job placement and matching services, ensuring that participants receive the support they need to secure employment. Weekly networking and job search sessions will be a key component of the position, as the Career Coach maintains regular contact with participants, offering one-on-one coaching until they are successfully employed. Additionally, the Career Coach will provide ongoing job advancement support for up to three years after employment, ensuring that participants continue to thrive in their careers. The Career Coach will also be responsible for outreach to participants for follow-up, ensuring that they remain engaged in the program. Accurate data collection and entry into electronic systems will be essential, as the Career Coach will need to track participant progress and outcomes effectively. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of the Success Team, ensuring that employment assistance, financial coaching, and appropriate resources are provided to participants. They will create a motivating environment, both in person and remotely, that encourages personal growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist participants in becoming successfully employed and financially stable
  • Facilitate motivational job search workshops
  • Provide job placement/matching with participants
  • Conduct weekly networking & job search sessions
  • Maintain regular contact with participants for one-on-one job search coaching
  • Provide employment and financial coaching techniques to assist participants in reaching goals
  • Outreach participants for follow-up
  • Accurately collect and enter data into electronic systems

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in social services, communication or related field
  • Minimum one year experience coaching, case management, or working in social services providing employment or job readiness training, or job placement
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write)
  • Access to regular and reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance
  • Prepared to drive own vehicle on Center business; some local travel required
  • Some prescheduled evening and Saturday hours required in person and remotely

  • Ability to analyze complex participant situations and coach accordingly
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
