The TalentSource Career Coach plays a crucial role in managing the delivery of career navigation and coaching services to currently enrolled students of The Excel Center and Indianapolis Metropolitan High School. This position is hybrid, allowing applicants who reside in designated areas of Indiana to work from home while traveling to various schools weekly. The Career Coach will also support mission participants and education alumni, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance for their continued education and career growth after utilizing Goodwill services. The role requires cultivating and maintaining partnerships with local employers to understand workforce needs and to facilitate connections between students and potential career opportunities. In this position, the Career Coach will design and implement activities that help students engage with local employers, allowing them to identify how their personal talents, skills, and credentials align with available careers in their community. The Career Coach will work with minimal supervision, relying on self-direction, intrinsic motivation, and strong time management skills, while also collaborating with team members and supervisors to establish goals that align with Goodwill's overall organizational and strategic objectives. The Career Coach will support a defined territory, coordinating with school teams to integrate career coaching services into existing advising systems. They will build relationships to ensure that each student graduates with a realistic career plan connected to their goals, enhanced by engagement with local business professionals. The role includes providing direct career and labor market advising, helping students explore their interests and aspirations, and guiding them in enrolling in relevant certification or college courses. Additionally, the Career Coach will maintain an industry-based network of community partners and leverage these partnerships to provide students with insights into potential careers and workplace experiences.
