About the position

The Career Coach II for Nursing/Healthcare is a full-time position focused on training students and alumni in leveraging their education and experience to achieve vocational goals within the nursing and healthcare sectors. This role involves assessing individual career aspirations, developing tailored career development strategies, and fostering relationships between Career Services and academic departments to enhance professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide career coaching services to students and alumni in the nursing and healthcare fields.
  • Compile research and resources on nursing career fields to provide expert career information.
  • Build collaborative relationships with faculty and staff to support student career development.
  • Evaluate students through coaching sessions and career assessments to assist in understanding their strengths and career options.
  • Train students on employability skills and networking techniques.
  • Guide students in creating tailored resumes and cover letters for various applications.
  • Conduct mock interviews to prepare students for job interviews.
  • Effectively communicate career-related information to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and informational sessions on career strategies and resources.
  • Monitor and track coaching services to improve offerings for students and alumni.
  • Collaborate with Career Services staff to plan and execute career fairs and employer sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Proven expertise in the nursing or healthcare field.
  • Broad knowledge of career opportunities and current trends in nursing career development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Experience in designing and delivering educational presentations.
  • Experience in successful coaching or mentoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively address needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in nursing or healthcare-related field.
  • Experience in divinity, ministry, or related fields.
