About the position

The Career Coach II position at Liberty University is a full-time role focused on training students and alumni in the School of Nursing to leverage their education and experiences for career success. The coach will assess individual skills and career goals, develop tailored career development strategies, and foster relationships between Career Services and academic departments. This role emphasizes providing industry-specific guidance, enhancing employability skills, and facilitating effective communication between students, alumni, and employers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide career coaching services to students and alumni in the School of Nursing.
  • Compile research and resources on nursing career fields to provide expert information.
  • Build collaborative relationships with faculty and staff.
  • Evaluate students through coaching sessions and career assessments.
  • Train students on employability skills and networking techniques.
  • Guide students in creating tailored resumes and cover letters.
  • Conduct mock interviews to prepare students for job applications.
  • Effectively communicate career-related information to stakeholders.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and informational sessions.
  • Monitor and track coaching services to improve offerings.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan career fairs and employer sessions.
  • Mentor and train Career Services staff on specific topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Proven expertise in the nursing or healthcare field.
  • Broad knowledge of career opportunities in nursing.
  • Experience in editing and proofing written documents.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in designing and delivering educational presentations.
  • Experience in successful coaching or mentoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style.
  • Ability to work independently and address needs with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in divinity, ministry, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field (preferred).
