About the position

The Career Coach Manager at Eastside College Preparatory School is responsible for providing leadership and strategic vision for the Career Coaching team. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, mentoring career coaches, and ensuring that students and alumni receive comprehensive career development support. The manager will also maintain a small caseload of students and teach in high school programming, while leading efforts to scale programming and track relevant metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Align the Career team, Alumni Director, and Eastside leadership around strategic vision and metrics, updating as necessary.
  • Lead weekly Career team meetings.
  • Set seasonal priorities and ensure that the team is delivering on expectations.
  • Collaborate with Alumni Director to manage the day-to-day operations of direct reports, ensuring a balance between personal desires and team goals.
  • Ensure the strategy and execution of the High School curriculum and programming is delegated and delivered.
  • Guide Career Coaches through their own case management, tracking against seasonal goals.
  • Provide advice and assist in problem-solving with student issues.
  • Lead team through continuous improvement efforts on programming.
  • Mentor college students through career exploration and job search processes.
  • Mentor young professionals during job/career transitions.
  • Collaborate with other Career Coaches, College Coaches, and Eastside faculty to support students.
  • Contribute to recruiting discussions and recommend students for internship opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to students throughout the recruiting process, including editing cover letters/resumes and interview prep.
  • Teach career preparation curriculum to high school students.
  • Track information in Salesforce regarding alumni profiles and job search progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 6+ years of experience in industry, professional development/career coaching, or recruiting with experience in interviewing and career exploration.
