About the position

The Career Coach (Part-Time) position at North Central Texas College is designed to assist students in their career development and job readiness. The role involves assessing student needs, guiding them through the career exploration process, and providing resources and training to enhance employability. The coach will also build relationships with internal and external partners to create programs and events that address community hiring needs and connect students and alumni with quality employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assess student needs and goals regarding career development.
• Guide students through the career exploration process.
• Provide resources and training to enhance employability and job readiness skills.
• Assist students with resumes, cover letters, and job search resources.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal programs, faculty, and staff for quality presentations and workshops.
• Develop employer outreach efforts to connect students and alumni with job opportunities.
• Maintain records and documentation in Jenzabar database and Microsoft Office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Career Counseling, Career Development, Higher Education, Human Resources, Social Services, Psychology, or a related field.
• Two years of professional level experience in higher education student services, career readiness/job placement services, social service programs, or federally funded labor, workforce or educational programs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and employers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.

• Experience in developing employer outreach efforts.
• Experience in conducting workshops and presentations.
