The Career Planning and Development Associate position within the Division of Student Affairs at Stony Brook University is designed for individuals who are passionate about empowering student success and supporting personal development. Additionally, you will conduct mock interviews and critique application materials, while also guiding students in their academic planning for law school. The role also involves organizing programs and events to prepare students for the workforce and law school, coordinating an alumni mentoring program for pre-law students, and providing logistical support for employer-student events such as career fairs and networking meet-ups. As a liaison to select academic departments, faculty, and career-focused student organizations, you will play a crucial role in outreach and campus engagement. You will utilize sophisticated career center management software to collect data, track placements, and produce reports on law school applications and acceptances. Participation in professional development opportunities and committee involvement is also expected, contributing to the overall mission of the Division of Student Affairs and Stony Brook University. This full-time position may require evening and weekend work at times, and it is designated as an essential position, meaning you may be required to report to work even during emergencies when classes are canceled.
