The Career Coach for Project Hire at Howard Center plays a crucial role in supporting clients with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder in their pursuit of competitively paid employment. This position is dedicated to developing individualized employment opportunities tailored to each client's unique needs and capabilities. The Career Coach will engage with potential employers to educate them about the services offered through Project Hire, fostering partnerships that can lead to meaningful job placements for clients. In addition to job development, the Career Coach will provide on-the-job training and ongoing support to clients, as well as to their direct staff or job coaches. This includes ensuring that clients are equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed in their roles. The Career Coach will also be responsible for completing required documentation and maintaining open lines of communication with the client's support team, ensuring that everyone involved is informed and aligned in their efforts to support the client’s employment journey. This full-time position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and is classified as non-exempt. The starting pay is competitive, beginning at $21.24 per hour, with the potential for increases based on experience. The role is part of a union, which provides additional support and benefits to employees.
