About the position

The Career Coach at John Boner Neighborhood Centers is a key member of the Center for Working Families (CWF) initiative, providing employment support to individuals facing barriers to economic stability. This role focuses on career coaching, employer partnerships, job readiness training, and data management to help participants secure and sustain meaningful employment. The ideal candidate has a background in workforce development, staffing, or community-based employment services, with strong skills in relationship-building, data tracking, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet with job seekers to assess their skills and guide them through training and job placement.
• Connect job seekers with potential employers and build relationships with workforce partners.
• Track employment outcomes and manage program data to ensure compliance with grants and reporting requirements.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and facilitate job readiness workshops.
• Coordinate career fairs and engage with individuals facing homelessness, mental health challenges, and other employment barriers.

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of experience in workforce development, staffing, job coaching, or nonprofit employment services.
• A track record of building employer partnerships and developing career pathways for job seekers.
• Comfortable managing multiple data systems and reporting on employment outcomes.
• Strong communication skills with patience and adaptability.
• Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Team-oriented but independent and proactive in problem-solving.

• Experience in nonprofit work.
• Flexibility with scheduling, including early mornings and evenings.
