About the position

The Career Coach at Allegheny College is responsible for providing career coaching support to students and alumni, helping them achieve professional and personal success. This role involves connecting various stakeholders within the career ecosystem, enhancing the student experience, and utilizing social media to increase engagement and awareness of career resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide career coaching, advising, and self-development exercises for students and alumni through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and outreach.
• Process routine correspondence and maintain confidential office files; manage department schedules and prepare reports as needed.
• Maintain a centralized structure for tracking campus-wide internship funds and share information regarding financial assistance to students.
• Collaborate with departmental teammates to develop goals that promote inclusiveness and enhance the career ecosystem at the College.
• Serve as a connection point for stakeholders, including committees and student groups, to promote career services.
• Assist students in developing personalized career plans and setting realistic goals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience in higher education and career service support.
• Preferred Associates or Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google products, and social media.
• Preferred experience in Career Services.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) standards for professional ethical practice in career services.
• Some understanding of leveraging technology for operational efficiency.
