About the position

The Career Coach position at Kalamazoo RESA focuses on managing student classroom activities outside of traditional instruction. The role involves assisting in the instruction of students, collecting and summarizing student data, and maintaining classroom organization. The Career Coach will also implement student conduct rules, maintain order at job sites, and assist students with problem-solving related to job-related issues. This position requires collaboration with staff to support student needs and demands regular attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage student classroom activities outside of classroom instruction.
  • Assist in the instruction of students as designed by the teacher.
  • Collect and summarize student data and share it with identified staff.
  • Perform classroom maintenance including cleaning and organization.
  • Assist with the organization of daily classroom and work-based site schedules and events calendar.
  • Implement rules of student conduct and maintain order at job sites and in the school.
  • Assist students with problem-solving when job-related problems arise.
  • Keep attendance and student records as required by the school.
  • Perform or assist in the physical management of students in crisis.
  • Collaborate and provide support to employees related to student needs.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
