About the position

The Career Coach at the University of Central Florida is responsible for guiding students towards achieving their academic and career goals. This role involves advising students on their academic paths, facilitating professional development activities, and connecting them with internship and job opportunities. The Career Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing students' career readiness and ensuring they are well-prepared for the job market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate various programs focused on assisting students in integrating into the University environment.
  • Work with students, alumni, and potential employers in both classroom and one-on-one settings to enhance career development.
  • Act as a liaison with College and University departments to assist with policies and procedures related to academic and professional development advising.
  • Facilitate student applications of the Career Professionalism Modules, providing direction and monitoring progress.
  • Provide counseling to students and develop programs to assist with career development.
  • Facilitate 30-35 student advisory sessions per week, with additional sessions during peak times.
  • Assist with employer development activities and facilitate college Internship courses as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct workshops and presentations on behalf of the College.
  • Execute FERPA and University rules/regulations of student privacy when working with students.
  • Utilize software such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and MyKnight Star.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in career coaching, including resume reviews and job search strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of full-cycle recruitment experience.
  • Experience hosting and delivering engaging presentations and workshops.
  • Familiarity with software such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and MyKnight Star.
