About the position

SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Career Coach. The person in this role will advance the mission of SUNY Brockport by developing, engaging, and building relationships with students, campus partners, and industry professionals who are aligned with the University's strategic objectives, programs and initiatives. The Career Coach will serve an essential role in supporting students in connecting to resources, experiences, and opportunities which will enhance their Brockport education and prepare them for meaningful careers. In addition to individual career advisement, they will also collaborate with campus partners to facilitate career readiness initiatives across campus, and with community partners to build and support off-campus opportunities. We are currently hiring two career coaches to work with Nursing and STEM majors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, campus partners, and industry professionals.
  • Provide individual career advisement to students.
  • Facilitate career readiness initiatives across campus in collaboration with campus partners.
  • Support off-campus opportunities in collaboration with community partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an appropriate field.
  • Expertise or background in career development, student advisement/coaching, marketing/communications, or data analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct professional experience in nursing or a STEM field.
  • Master's degree in higher education administration or similar field.
  • Experience with First Destination Surveys and/or data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Handshake platform and/or related career development software.
  • Training and/or certification in student coaching/advising, career readiness competencies, and student development models.
  • Strong project management and follow-up skills.

Benefits

  • Salary starting at $55,151.
  • May be benefits eligible.
