About the position

The Career Coach position at Goodwill of Southern Nevada is designed to provide individualized job placement assistance to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The role focuses on helping clients obtain competitive employment through various services offered at the Career Center. Responsibilities include managing intake processes, conducting orientations, evaluating participant eligibility, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards. The Career Coach will also engage with local employers and support job seekers throughout their employment journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by answering questions and determining eligibility for program services.
  • Conduct individual and group intakes, assessments, and complete required documentation.
  • Assist job seekers with job applications and provide an overview of career enhancement tools.
  • Handle external communication with local employers regarding potential job placements.
  • Track and meet grant-funded program productivity goals and maintain case documentation.
  • Provide supportive follow-up services to participants and job seekers as needed.
  • Gather and share data about the local job market and assist job seekers in developing employment action plans.
  • Conduct workshops and develop job leads for job seekers.
  • Perform community outreach and maintain relationships with local employers.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in employment counseling, career counseling, job development, and placement.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.

  • Familiarity with the Las Vegas valley labor market and human services.
  • Understanding of disability-related issues.
