About the position

The Career Consultant position is primarily focused on experiential learning within the Career & Professional Development Center. The role involves collaborating with faculty to promote and report on various experiential learning opportunities such as internships, research projects, co-ops, and shadowing. The consultant will also be responsible for searching for and promoting these opportunities via LinkedIn, developing a searchable database of completed student internships, and maintaining records and reports related to experiential learning experiences. Additionally, the consultant will assist students and faculty with the necessary paperwork and coordinate with the Registrar's Office to ensure accurate transcript inclusion of these experiences. Other duties include planning and promoting CPDC events, collecting data for the First Destination Survey, overseeing the Dress Your Best Closet, updating career resources, and attending job fairs to promote intern hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty across the three schools to promote and report on experiential learning experiences.
  • Search for and promote experiential learning opportunities via LinkedIn.
  • Develop a searchable database of previously completed student internships.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and individual student files for experiential learning experiences.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Assist students and faculty with the experiential learning paperwork process.
  • Coordinate with the Registrar's Office for timely inclusion of experiential learning experiences on transcripts.
  • Assist with the planning and promotion of CPDC events.
  • Assist with data collection for the First Destination Survey.
  • Oversee the Dress Your Best Closet.
  • Update resources such as sample resumes, Career Guides, and Dress & Dine Guides.
  • Attend Chamber Events and job fairs to promote the hiring of interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an office setting.
