About the position
The Career Development Counselor at NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) will guide and support students in their career planning, decision-making, and job search processes. This role involves evaluating students' professional interests and skills, developing career programs, and collaborating with employers to meet talent needs through various resources and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Guide and support students through career planning and job searching processes.
- Assist students in evaluating their professional interests and skills.
- Develop and implement career programs, including planning, marketing, and assessment of effectiveness.
- Work closely with employers to assist with talent needs using available resources.
- Organize and participate in career fairs, industry expos, and employer forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in career services, counseling, human resources, or related fields.
- Experience in implementing programs, seminars, and preparing training materials.
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, and organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Fluency in Mandarin.
- Coaching certification from an ICF-accredited institution.
- Experience working with international students and professionals.
- Knowledge of current job market trends and AI tools for job search.
