About the position

The Career Development Counselor at NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) will guide and support students in their career planning, decision-making, and job search processes. This role involves evaluating students' professional interests and skills, developing career programs, and collaborating with employers to meet talent needs through various resources and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and support students through career planning and job searching processes.
  • Assist students in evaluating their professional interests and skills.
  • Develop and implement career programs, including planning, marketing, and assessment of effectiveness.
  • Work closely with employers to assist with talent needs using available resources.
  • Organize and participate in career fairs, industry expos, and employer forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in career services, counseling, human resources, or related fields.
  • Experience in implementing programs, seminars, and preparing training materials.
  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Mandarin.
  • Coaching certification from an ICF-accredited institution.
  • Experience working with international students and professionals.
  • Knowledge of current job market trends and AI tools for job search.
