About the position

The Lane Construction Corporation is one of America's leading construction companies, specializing in large, complex civil infrastructure. For nearly 130 years, it has contributed to the development of the country's vast network of roads, highways, and bridges, including the Interstate Highway System. Lane also specializes in tunnels, metro and railway systems, as well as airports and water and wastewater treatment plants. In this role, you will plan and head the development effort of a scrum project. You will envision the final product, communicate the vision to the scrum team, motivate the team to subscribe to the vision, and see the vision through to completion. You will describe features, collaborate, and communicate with the delivery team, accept or reject work results, and steer the project by tracking and forecasting its progress. Additionally, you will create, maintain, and outline work in the product backlog, determine which activities will produce the most business value, and prioritize it based on business value.

Responsibilities

• Understand the market, the customer, the business domain, and the varying needs of different types of users, and work with the user group to make sound decisions and determine what features will be in the product release.
• Collaborate closely with the development team and customers to ensure there is a clear understanding of what features are needed in the product or application.
• Ensure management, stakeholders, and sponsors are informed and the vision is aligned with their wishes; communicate the business benefits of the entire product and each individual feature.
• Acknowledge and respond to questions from the team, support and respect the team's creativity, and deliver direction based on whether the team is developing commercial software, software for internal use, hardware, or some other type of product.
• Maintain availability to the team, showing commitment by doing whatever is necessary to build the best product possible and being actively engaged with their teams.
