About the position

The Career Planner for the FSET program in Ashland, Wisconsin, is responsible for recruiting and enrolling participants, providing individualized case management services, and coordinating with other agencies to facilitate necessary services such as education and training. This role involves monitoring participant progress, providing work readiness training, and ensuring compliance with program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and enroll applicants into the FSET program.
  • Explain available services through the FSET program, including employment position placements and supportive services.
  • Assist participants in resolving issues impacting their participation, such as transportation and childcare.
  • Monitor participant activities to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Use ongoing assessments to guide participant decisions regarding FSET assignments.
  • Make referrals to services outside the FSET program as needed.
  • Contact each participant at least once per month to review activities and monitor progress.
  • Accommodate participants needing to schedule meetings during non-traditional hours.
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements for participant records.
  • Use data systems to case note and track customer activities.
  • Ensure no duplicate services are provided for participants co-enrolled in multiple work programs.
  • Conduct community outreach and inter-agency activities to promote FSET enrollment.
  • Identify and establish appropriate work and training sites.
  • Conduct orientation and enrollment for new participants.
  • Assist with vocational assessment, career planning, and job search training.
  • Enter case notes into the CWW FSET tool accurately and timely.
  • Visit community partners to recruit new applicants.
  • Contact employers to identify job openings and promote programs.
