About the position

The University of Oregon's DESTNY Grant Management Unit is seeking qualified applicants for open positions as Career Research Assistants and Research Associates. These roles are integral to the research team, contributing to various projects aimed at improving the lives of children and youth with disabilities and their families. Research Assistants will work under the direct supervision of faculty researchers, engaging in research, outreach, proposal development, and mentoring. They will be involved in tasks such as data collection, writing reports for funders, and assisting in grant applications. Research Associates, on the other hand, will take on more independent roles, leading research projects and managing grants. They will be expected to have an advanced level of knowledge in disability and special education, and their work will require significant discretion and judgment. The DESTNY unit encompasses several established research and outreach entities within the College of Education, including the Secondary Special Education & Transition research unit and the Center for Human Development. Research areas may include program development, statistical analyses, and professional development for project staff. Some positions may require bilingual fluency and involve overnight travel. The positions are open until filled, with applications reviewed as needs arise.
