About the position

The Career Services Coach at Miller-Motte College is responsible for providing career development and employability coaching to students and alumni. This role involves conducting workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and professional assessments to assist graduates in their job search efforts. The coach will collaborate with the Director of Career Services and other staff to monitor student progress and facilitate events such as career fairs. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills to document interactions and maintain student records accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing career development and employability coaching to students and alumni.
  • Conduct classroom presentations and workshops on career-related topics.
  • Schedule and conduct mock interviews, both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Assist graduates with resume writing and job search guidance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student and employer communications in CampusVue/CampusNexus.
  • Conduct outreach to unplaced graduates and track their employment criteria needs.
  • Coordinate professional development sessions on resume preparation and interview techniques.
  • Participate in planning and executing student engagement activities and career fairs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • 1 year of work experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, counseling, or business.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in career/employability training.
  • 1 year of call center experience.
  • 1 year of interviewing experience.
