About the position

The Career Services Representative/Employment Recruiter at Heavy Equipment Colleges of America is responsible for developing and maintaining employer relationships to secure job placements for students. This role involves proactive outreach to local businesses, coordinating with staff to identify job opportunities, and ensuring ongoing communication with employers to support student success.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with employers within the local area for hires.
  • Manage ongoing employer relationships by conducting multiple site visits and check-ins per year, serving as one point of contact for the employer.
  • Ask existing employers for referrals to businesses in the field and create new relationships with referred employers.
  • Coordinate with Career Services Advisor to fill local job openings with qualified graduates.
  • Assist and participate in all departmental and campus events.
  • Participate in supplementary career training.
  • Coordinate collection of employer feedback and graduate surveys.
  • Learn to effectively use time to balance externship meetings with departmental requirements.
  • Use resources effectively to achieve results.
  • Conduct 100+ marketing cold calls by phone per week to create job leads and follow-up on responses from all marketing leads.
  • Respond to all phone calls and messages within 24 hours.
  • Demonstrate complete working knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agency regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent skills learned through business development, staffing or sales experience.
  • High-level of professionalism and confidence.
  • Ability to present to and influence employers.
  • Must be an independent self-starter with the ability to spend 50% of the time out of office and manage workload independently.
  • Experience managing a sales territory.
  • Reliable personal transportation including valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Cold calling experience preferred.
