The Career Success Coach will play a pivotal role in leading one of the Center for Career Development's (CCD) industry-focused Career Communities. This position is designed to foster a community of practice that includes students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and industry experts, all centered around specific areas of student career interest that transcend disciplinary boundaries. The Career Success Coach will be responsible for coaching and advising students on their career development, enhancing engagement within the designated Career Community, and developing and implementing tailored workshops, resources, programs, and events that cater to the needs of the community. In this role, the Career Success Coach will work collaboratively with various CCD teams, including employer engagement, career and life design, operations, data, and marketing. Building strong relationships with relevant faculty, campus partners, professional associations, employers, and stakeholders connected to the selected industry area will be essential. The Coach will also be responsible for developing industry-specific knowledge and sharing information, coordinating with the CCD team to support engagement strategies, marketing and communication efforts, and the collection of assessment and outcome data for their Career Community. Essential functions of the position include serving as the primary lead and campus representative for a designated Career Community, developing outreach efforts, student programs, events, workshops, and services that connect various stakeholders. The Coach will provide career coaching through individual appointments and programs, administer career-related assessments, and build collaborative relationships with university departments. Regular meetings with key faculty and staff, representing the CCD at events, and coordinating with the data team to assess outcomes are also critical responsibilities. The Coach will research labor market trends, develop career materials, and engage in professional development opportunities to remain current in the field.
