Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver effective instructional content that fosters an inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the WSU Tri-Cities campus community through service activities, including student mentorship and participation in departmental committees.
  • Collaborate with other units within the College of Arts and Sciences to enhance educational offerings.
  • Advance efforts to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field by the appointment date.
  • Demonstrated potential or record of effective teaching in biology with a commitment to student-centered pedagogy.
  • Proven or potential dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues in both written and verbal forms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Evidence of innovative teaching approaches that enhance the pedagogy of biology.
  • A record of or potential for excellence in teaching diverse student populations.
  • At least one year of post-doctoral experience in biology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct undergraduate students in research projects and/or mentor students in career exploration.
